@jtr Nice. It’s important to have these little ceremonies I think.

@Denny I mean, I could… I use Marmite peanut butter which is (unsurprisingly) Marmite mixed with peanut butter for an extra umami kick. I used to make my own mixture, but Marmite now sells it, so I can’t be the only weirdo who likes it 🤪
@Miraz Happy Birthday! 🥳
@BestofTimes Oof. That is annoying, to say the least!
@Miraz I highlighted so many passages in that book.
@alans Woohoo! The post you made on your own site just showed up in my webmentions dashboard. The one on the timeline here didn't which makes me think that I might need to tinker a bit more. I have just added my macroblog feed to micro.blog to see if that makes a difference. I have been previously just linking to new posts manually. We'll see. Thanks so much for taking the time to send a mention from your site!
@alans It’s a very cool idea. Still no idea if I have wired it up correctly though as I haven’t had any mentions through to my dashboard yet from my testing.
@www.rousette.org.uk New post: Some blog housekeeping.
In which I prettify my footnotes (and incidentally re-awaken my love of long and rambling footnotes), and dip my toe in Webmention waters.
@rousette.org.uk Might help if I actually pushed the site to Netlify before trying to link to my my post. Sorry for the testing nonsense folks! I have been inspired by @manton Indie Microblogging book to finally try to set this up.
@rousette.org.uk Don't mind me, just testing out webmentions with a link to one of my articles...
@hollie Aww 🥰
@hollie Irresistible urge for a gentle boop on that last pic 😻
@Miraz I hope you like it, it’s quite a quirky story!
@vikingsversussamurai It seems to have been a divisive version! I haven’t had issues with it, so I must have got lucky.
@Miraz 😂
@vincentritter Good isn't it? Mr. Bsag is a WWII aircraft nut, and he loves it. He has secretly watched the first episode twice now, and I don't think it will be the last time he rewatches. I know that the accuracy is good because we watched Dunkirk together, and I didn't hear the end of the fact that the Spitfires were the wrong model for the time or that the rivets were wrong in the Navy vessels (🤷♀️). Silence on that front during MotA....
@Miraz My eyes grabbed on to 'Oxford' and I immediately thought, wow - Oxford (UK) must have really changed since I lived there! 😀
@Miraz That sounds amazing! I look forward to hearing about your trip.
@ArnoldHoogerwerf 🤣 It’s particularly great when you get one of those amazing chords on the church organ just as you take the work out from the presser foot and find that you lined things up perfectly for once.
@BestofTimes shudders
@BestofTimes Ooo, I haven’t come across that monstrosity yet. How does one pronounce it? Skwep?
@samjc You do adjust to it, but I think everyone has their sweet spot, and for me, 3x5 + 3 is the perfect balance. I can manage with two thumb keys, but prefer 3.
@Alligator Excellent choice! The Sweep is a lovely keyboard, I’m sure you’ll enjoy it.
@Alligator I am still using a custom split every day, but now I use TOTEM keyboards (wireless and wired) that I made myself. You can read the details in those posts, but I found the cognitive load of dealing with only 18 keys a bit much in the end.
@BestofTimes Glad you’re enjoying it! I found it stayed with me long after reading it.
